Job Summary
A Data Engineer is responsible for developing, constructing, testing, and maintaining architectures such as databases and large-scale processing systems. They work closely with data scientists and analysts to ensure data is accessible and optimized for performance.Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Build Data Pipelines: Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines for efficient data processing.
- Data Integration: Combine raw data from various sources to create consistent and machine-readable formats.
- Data Quality and Reliability: Implement methods to improve data reliability and quality.
- Data Analysis: Conduct complex data analysis and report on results.
- Collaboration: Work with stakeholders including data scientists, architects, and business teams to support data infrastructure needs.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL. DBMS (database management) development experience. Experience with SalesForce and Tableau is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze raw data and develop insights.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve data-related issues.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various teams.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
Example Duties:
- Assembling large, complex sets of data that meet business requirements.
- Building infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data.
- Developing analytical tools to provide actionable insights into key business metrics.
- Supporting data-related technical issues and assisting with data infrastructure needs.
- Responsible for end-to-end data flow management.
This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, has strong organizational skills, and is passionate about leveraging data to drive business decisions.
