Translate business needs into long-term architecture solutions and analyse data, conduct root cause analysis, and generate proposals to improve data quality, access, and management.

Are you someone who has:

• A deep understanding of the various data sources.
• Systems and data fields to analyse the quality of data.
• Ability to conduct root cause analysis and generate proposals to improve data quality, access, and management.
• A combination of analytical expertise, business acumen, strategic thinking, and project and relationship management skills, the incumbent will extract reporting requirements from business and deliver on this.

The IM Data Quality and Metadata team has the following key responsibilities:

• The IM Data Quality and Metadata Team is responsible for enabling the Data Quality and Metadata disciplnes across FirstRand. This entails assisisting business units in their understanding of the requirements of these disciplines and providing guidance and advice to them on how they can meet the organisation’s requirements regarding these two disciplines.
• The IM Data Quality and Metadata Team is also responsible for providing operational support for the users of the IM Platform, and the capabilities that are enabled on the platform. These capabilities are not only for data quality and metadata management, but for other IM disciplines such as records management and data privacy and protection, as well as capabilities that support the organisation’s data and analytics strategy.

• IM Platorm support also includes optimisation, cleanups, testing of patches and upgrades, and implementing new functionality.
• Members of the IM Data Quality and Metadata Team also work on projects related to both discipline enablement, and the implementation of new capabilities on the IM Platform

You will be an ideal candidate if you:

NQF Qualification Format

• Bachelor's Degree /Postgraduate Diploma / Advanced Diploma

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Technology or Bachelor of Science in Information Technology

Experience Required

• 2/3 years data analysis experience.
• Solid understanding and working knowledge of relational databases (e.g. Teradata, Oracle, SQL, SAS, etc), data structure, data quality strategies and experience analysing large volumes of data. Exposure to the financial services industry and or banking products and related systems preferred.
• Tools required to be successful in this environment (Ab-initio, Metadata hub, ExpressIT)
