Senior, Software Engineer

Position Summary...

Experienced front end engineer who demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

Our Advertising Technology team is building an end to end advertising platform that is key to Walmart’s overall growth strategy. We use cutting edge machine learning, data mining and optimization algorithms to ingest, model and analyse Walmart’s proprietary online and in-store data, encompassing 95% of American households. Importantly, we build smart data systems that deliver relevant retail ads and experiences that connect our customers with the brands and products they love.

What you’ll Do:

We are looking for self driven Frontend engineers to join our growing team. They will play a crucial role in developing responsive, interactive and dynamic end user facing web apps while following the best practices. You must be able to prioritise projects, make sound judgments, work to improve the processes, and get the right things done.

Design and develop scalable, high-performance front-end applications using modern frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.
• Collaborate with designers to turn wireframes and mockups into pixel-perfect interfaces.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and user stories.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Implement and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure quality and reliability.
• Lead and mentor junior front-end developers, reviewing code and promoting best practices.
• Work with backend developers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless data flow.
• Stay updated with the latest trends in front-end development, frameworks, and tooling.

What you should bring:

• 5+ years of Frontend and backend experience building highly scalable, high performance, responsive web applications
• Solid foundation in data structures and algorithms
• In-depth understanding of Javascript and React
• Experience on the backend side with Java(spring boot), Python
• Experience CSS Preprocessors like SCSS/LESS
• Experience with Node JS, including API development
• Experience in designing and developing enterprise-grade UI/FE applications
• Knows about working code vs quality code
• Experience in writing Unit Testable and Good quality code
• Well versed in a variety of design patterns
• Experience with frontend toolings like webpack, babel, etc
• Understanding of frontend security and performance
• Skilled in providing oversight and mentoring team members
• Serves as subject matter expert (SME) on one or more major modules

Good to Have

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker.
• Experience in TypeScript
• Knowledge of CI/CD
• Experience in writing Quality code
• Experience in using ESLint, and static code analysers
• Experience with NodeJs Frameworks (Express / Hapi)
