Responsibilities
- Data Architecture Assessment & Optimization:
- Analyze the existing data architecture, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement in scalability and performance.
- Design and implement a robust, globally distributed data architecture, focusing on CosmosDB (MongoDB API) and Redis optimization and data standardization.
- Provide expert guidance on data modeling, schema design, and data distribution strategies for a multi-region setup.
- Review existing sharding strategies and implement best practices with development teams.
- Regional Compliance & Data Governance:
- Define and enforce data governance policies to ensure compliance with regional regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Implement data masking, encryption, and access control mechanisms to protect sensitive data.
- Work closely with legal and compliance teams to translate regulatory requirements into technical specifications.
- Data Integration & Reporting:
- Develop and maintain scripts (Python, etc.) to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from diverse sources, including CosmosDB, Redis, Sumologic, Datadog, and licensing tools (e.g. Revenera).
- Build comprehensive data reporting and dashboards to provide actionable insights into platform performance, usage, and compliance.
- Standardize data formats and definitions across all regions and data sources.
- Technical Leadership & Collaboration:
- Act as a subject matter expert on data architecture and compliance, providing guidance and mentorship to development teams.
- Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and security teams to write policies and exercises for data backup, restoration and integrity.
- Troubleshooting & Optimization:
- Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot performance issues.
- Optimize data queries and storage to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Statistics/ Mathematics, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in data analytics, data engineering, data modeling, or a related field.

The base pay range for this role is $130,350 to $200,750 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
