Hi, I’m James Sharam, Head of Computer Vision at Hawk-Eye Innovations. I’m looking for a Senior Computer Vision Engineer to join our growing team. This is a key role focused on real-time skeletal, ball, and game object tracking for multiple sports. A strong background in mathematics and modelling is encouraged. What Your Day Will Look Like

As a Senior Computer Vision Engineer, you’ll work on real-world problems at the heart of our tracking technology — developing systems that operate in high-stakes, live sports environments. From ball and player tracking in football and tennis to developing multi-view vision pipelines and contributing to the core of our AI platform, your work will directly impact how sport is played and watched around the world.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement computer vision algorithms for real-time tracking across multiple sports

• Model behaviour from noisy inputs using robust mathematical approaches

• Develop, test, and optimise C++ code for use in production environments

• Prototype and experiment with vision techniques using tools such as OpenCV and CUDA

• Build internal tools to support visualisation and debugging of vision pipelines

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on goals and requirements

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development

Tech Stack and Skill Requirements

Required:

• Strong background in computer vision fundamentals (e.g. tracking, multi-view geometry)

• Proficiency in C++ (C++14 or newer)

• Experience with performance optimisation for CPU and/or GPU

• Familiarity with OpenCV and numerical libraries (e.g. Eigen)

• Strong mathematical skills with an ability to model and reason about real-world data

• Experience using version control tools such as Git in collaborative environments

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with CUDA or other GPU-based frameworks

• Exposure to sensor fusion, Kalman filters, or similar techniques

• Familiarity with Python for prototyping and testing

• Experience working on real-time or embedded systems

• Interest or experience in sports technology
