As our new Senior Analytics Engineer, you'll be the key figure in building and maintaining the data foundations that ensure Lunar stays at the forefront of Nordic fintech.
At Lunar we are democratizing the power of money and changing the way we all bank, pay, and invest. Since starting in Aarhus in 2015, we've grown rapidly and are now a major player in the Nordics, with offices in Copenhagen, Aarhus and Stockholm 🚀
So who are we? Are we a tech company or a bank? Well, we're both, breaking free from the usual categories. Here, tech isn't just a cool add-on; it's the core of how we do things. With our own banking license, we go head-to-head with traditional banks. What sets us apart is the mix of tech and financial services, giving us the power to shake up a dusty industry that's ready for a change.
As we continue our journey to becoming the best everyday bank in the Nordics, we are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to design, develop, and maintain critical data models that drive key business decisions, ensuring the integrity and consistency of our core data assets and providing data for visualization tools like Lightdash and Looker.
As our new Senior Analytics Engineer, you will be a vital member of our Data Platform team, reporting to Rolf Njor Jensen. The team currently comprises 6 amazing individuals working across Copenhagen and Aarhus, who are focused on building and maintaining a robust data infrastructure, leveraging technologies such as dbt, Redshift, Iceberg, and Airflow to support our evolving business needs, within the broader Data function, led by our CTO, Kåre Kjelstrøm.
What will you do?
Core Data Model Ownership: Own and maintain a set of core data models essential to Lunar's business operations.
Data Modeling and Design: Design and implement robust and scalable data models that align with business requirements and best practices, leveraging tools like dbt.
Data Model Maintenance: Ensure the ongoing accuracy, consistency, and performance of core data models within our Redshift and Iceberg based data warehouse.
Data Platform Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers to integrate data models into the AWS based data platform, utilizing Airflow for orchestration, and ensure seamless data flow.
Data Analyst Collaboration: Partner with data analysts to understand their data needs and provide support for data model usage, enabling effective use of visualization tools such as Lightdash and Looker.
Data Quality and Governance: Implement and enforce data quality standards and governance policies related to core data models.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for core data models, including data dictionaries and data flow diagrams.
Performance Optimization: Optimize data models for performance and scalability within the AWS environment.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all data modeling activities comply with relevant financial regulations and data privacy laws.
