What You'll Do

As the Director, Data Governance you will play a key role in leading Epic’s efforts to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. You will define and lead Epic’s data governance strategy and frameworks to promote data quality, integrity, and accessibility.

In this role, you will

  • Develop and execute Epic’s data governance vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with the company’s business, compliance, and ethical objectives
  • Define, implement, and oversee data governance frameworks
  • Manage and support the growth of your compliance professionals on your team
  • Establish data stewardship and ownership roles fostering a collaborative approach to data management
  • Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures designed to support compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data governance frameworks with business needs and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure data integrity and quality are embedded into Epic’s infrastructure, products, and services
  • Provide leadership and subject matter expertise on data governance to support Epic’s business and compliance objectives
  • Stay abreast of evolving regulatory standards 

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or related roles, preferably in the tech and/or gaming industry
  • Technical expertise in software development, application architecture, and common software platforms sufficient to translate requirements to engineering and product teams
  • Experience evaluating and implementing data governance software solutions
  • Experience managing and leading teams; progressive growth in current and prior roles
  • Experience partnering with stakeholders across legal, finance, people, product, and engineering teams
  • Proactively identify and mitigate process gaps, roadblocks, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies that will negatively impact risk and compliance efforts
  • Significant experience with program or project management, including developing long-term strategy consisting of multiple smaller projects, defining program strategy, and defining metrics
  • Exceptional communication skills and experience working successfully in a global environment with a diverse group of colleagues.
  • Experience with US and global privacy, security, and content laws and regulations (CCPA, COPPA, GDPR, etc.)
  • Hard worker who is comfortable operating in a complex and dynamic environment, is comfortable understanding how to prioritize multiple competing demands, navigating ambiguity and complexity, and knowing when to escalate; this person will be energized by big challenges and working with excellent people Passionate about doing the right thing
