Kymera is a clinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering the field of targeted protein degradation (TPD) to develop medicines that address critical health problems and have the potential to dramatically improve patients’ lives. Kymera is deploying TPD to address disease targets and pathways inaccessible with conventional therapeutics. How you’ll contribute:

As the IT Intern at Kymera Therapeutics, you will support our IT team in various tasks, with a strong focus on data management, software, and operations. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced biotech environment, collaborate cross-functionally with corporate, and clinical development professionals, and develop highly transferable industry skills.

  • Data Management:
    • Assists in routine process of data cleaning, structuring, and transforming raw datasets into usable formats stored in data warehouse.
    • Identify and rectify data inconsistencies to ensure high-quality inputs.
    • Organize and maintain datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and easy accessibility.
    • Ensure that data transfers are executed efficiently and securely.
  • Software Development:
    • Collaborate with team members to design and build tools that streamline and automate data flows.
    • Implement and test scripts or applications (using Python, R, etc.) to optimize routine data processes.
  • Collaboration and Operation:
    • Conduct tests to validate software/data integrity.
    • Document processes, methodologies, and tool functionalities to support team knowledge sharing and future improvements.
    • Work closely with Research scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute innovative ideas to improve data workflows.

 

Skills and experience you’ll bring:

  • Educational and Technical Skills:
    • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in data wrangling techniques and tools.
    • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R.
    • Basic understanding of database systems (SQL and/or NoSQL) and data management principles.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Self-motivated, keen attention to detail, and eagerness to learn new technologies and tools.
  • Preferred Skills (a plus)
    • Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
    • Familiarity with Pipeline Pilot.
    • Basic knowledge of data visualization techniques.
