Description
Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Co-Op to join our Artificial Intelligence/ Digital Innovation department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. The Artificial Intelligence Scientist Co-Op will be instrumental in driving the development, optimization, and miniaturization of established experimental protocols within our laboratory. This position is laboratory-based and requires a strong adherence to the scientific method. The Co-Op will utilize a diverse array of molecular biology techniques and automation tools to establish, validate, and refine procedures. Key responsibilities include planning and conducting experiments, analyzing data, and collaborating with team members to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the protocols.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Apply AI algorithms to the translational safety project.
• Implement and compare AI Algorithms.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement AI algorithms for various applications.
• Analyze data and conduct experiments to improve the performance and accuracy of AI systems.
• Contribute to the documentation and presentation of research findings.
• Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data used in the project.
Requirements
• Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing
• Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship
• Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred
• Major or minor in related field of internship
• Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university
• Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university
Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong coding skills in Python, C++, Java, Visual Studio.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Slides, Google Docs, Adobe Premiere, and Adobe Photoshop.
• Experience with different operating systems like Mac, Linux, Windows.
• Knowledge of algorithms, machine model training, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
• Certificate in AI4ALL and AWS is a plus.
• Familiarity with Haskell and Forth.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and analyze data to improve AI algorithms and systems.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams to design and implement AI solutions.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to develop solutions to complex problems using innovative approaches.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
• Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
• Must be 18 years of age or older
Compensation Data
This position offers an hourly rate of $20 to $33 commensurate to the level of degree program in which an applicant is actively enrolled. For an overview of our benefits please click here
