Senior Data Engineer - Python, AWS

Atimi is seeking an experienced senior data engineer to fill a position in Canada. Please note this is a fully remote position with EST working hours but we're open to candidates from all provinces. Atimi works with some of the leading companies in North America, providing them with high-quality software solutions that integrate both mobile and web experience. We are looking for an established leader in the domain with solid experience in software development principles, hands-on knowledge of the latest cloud technologies and soft skills. You work well with colleagues, partners and clients and have great communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the database infrastructure using software engineering best practices, data management fundamentals, data storage principles, recent advances in distributed systems, and operational excellence best practices.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and design the right solution.
• Work closely with other teams, analyze source systems, define underlying data sources and transformation requirements, design suitable data models and document the design/specifications.
• Build/maintain systems and datasets that analysts and scientists use to generate actionable insights.
• Demonstrate passion for quality and productivity by use of efficient development techniques, standards and guidelines.
• Peer reviews of work. Actively mentor more junior members of the team, improving their skills, their knowledge of our systems and their ability to get things done

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering
• 4+ years of experience with Python
• 3+ years of experience with Apache Airflow
• 2+ years of experience with Amazon Redshift
• Proficient in SQL and Data Modelling
• Experience in building and optimization of ETL pipelines involving large volumes (PB) of data
• Experience with AWS (Lambda, Step Functions, S3. IAM Roles, SQS, SNS)
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL and MySQL
• Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work with different teams for sourcing data.

The position is open to anyone, but you must be located in Canada. Relocation support is not provided.

About The Interview Process

The interview process for this position involves multiple stages that cover:

• Practical evaluation (live coding exercise) in Python and SQL

About Salary and Compensation

The salary for this position is based on the Atimi Salary Grid, ranges between 100k and 160k per annum and depends on the individual's experience and performance during the interview.
