THE OPPORTUNITY:The Senior Healthcare Data Engineer is responsible for playing a leading role in the implementation of cutting-edge solutions across the ecosystem for data ingestion, transformation, integration, and delivery. This individual will serve as a technical expert in integration architecture, leveraging advanced skills in Python, SQL and API development to create scalable, performant, and reusable systems. They will collaborate closely with stakeholders to define strategies for seamless data interoperability and ensure compliance with industry standards. This individual will also be mentoring team members and ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals. The role requires a proactive approach to solving complex data challenges while driving innovation in healthcare data engineering.

WHAT YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO:
- Collaborates with technology leadership to design and implement the strategic direction and vision for the integration architecture function, ensuring scalability and alignment with business objectives.
- Develops software and data solutions using Python, SQL, Linux, Azure, and other emerging technologies.
- Develops APIs and middleware for secure, reliable, and scalable data exchange between systems.
- Leads the design and development of end-to-end data integration pipelines, ensuring high performance and low latency.
- Leverages advanced expertise in Python, SQL to identify and address edge cases, potential bugs, and other sources of system inefficiency.
- Designs and supports production-grade integration workflows, including alerting, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Proactively evaluates new technologies and tools to enhance the integration architecture and data engineering practices.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Healthcare Management, Statistics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
- Experience working with Healthcare Data
- Experience with JSON and XML for structured data handling.
- Expertise with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB.
- Experience with SSIS or similar ETL tools.
- Proficiency with columnar databases such as AWS Redshift or Google BigQuery.
- Knowledge of healthcare & healthcare-specific technologies
- Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, and other agile tools.
- Knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Advanced experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI.
- Familiarity with AI/ML integration for predictive analytics and data insights.
