Fortuna is seeking a skilled and data-driven Data Engineer / Analytics Specialist to support analytics development, data migration, and dashboard reporting within the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) environment. This contract role includes redesigning legacy systems and building future-ready solutions, and is part of a Request for Proposal (RFP) process with a future anticipated start date based on award.

WORKSITE: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid - Onsite + Remote)

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, standard business hours

COMPENSATION: Competitive hourly rate based on experience and employment type (W2 or 1099)

ANTICIPATED START DATE: Pending RFP award - estimated future start date

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Migrate and redesign LADWP's CRM data warehouse for scalability and performance

  • Develop dashboards and reports using Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) or Power BI

  • Implement predictive modeling and segmentation tools to enhance customer intelligence

  • Ensure high data quality and seamless integration with internal and external systems

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering and analytics roles

  • Proficiency in Oracle Analytics Server, SQL, and ETL development tools

  • Demonstrated experience with AI/ML techniques for predictive modeling

  • Strong background in data visualization and reporting platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Utility or public sector experience supporting large-scale data environments
