HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your Role:

  • Summarizes or abstracts information from patient files, keys data, and passes it on to physicians or nurses.
  • Digitizes and works with patient records, analyzing them for trends that can improve the standard of care.
  • Turns patient data into useful and actionable information.
  • Delves into patient records to find crucial information and ensures it gets into the hands of those needing it in a timely manner, leading directly to improved quality of care, a better patient experience, and increased savings for healthcare administrative departments.
  • Works frequently with a computer.
  • Collects data from various units and departments, maintains electronic hospital records, runs reports, files paperwork, and operates office equipment.
  • Sits at a desk for extended periods.
  • Assesses patient needs and plans for any medical equipment, home care services, or follow-up appointments that may be required for a patient upon discharge.
  • Counsels caregivers on proper handling of medical equipment being issued to the patient.
  • Works with insurance carriers to ensure coverage of all required medical equipment and post-discharge services.

  • RN [Registered Nurse]/Nurse Manager (job code (JC): 031001)

  • None

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

  • Associate degree in nursing

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing

Required Experience:

  • Three (3) years of relevant work experience

Preferred Experience:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of neonatal clinical experience. 
  • Research assistance experience. 
  • Discharge planning experience. 

Required Certification/License/Registry:

  • Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes, Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act) [includes multistate compact licensure].
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification from an American Red Cross (ARC) approved provider

Preferred Certification/License/Registry:

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) approved provider. 
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) (Neonatal) certification from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN).
