TimeLog is a leading Professional Services Automation (PSA) software, dedicated to helping professional service organizations streamline business processes and boost productivity. TimeLog fills the GAP between Project Managers and the Finance Department in the consulting business, empowering Project Managers to manage project financials in a way compliant with the requirements set by finance.

We are currently looking for a skilled Data Engineer who is passionate about building and operating a robust data platform that enables powerful analytics, reporting, and insights across our product and organization.

📢 About the position:

As our new Data Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical driver for our data platform, which sits at the heart of all TimeLog data processing, reporting, and analytics – both internal and customer-facing.

You will manage and evolve the entire data pipeline and ensure that our platform is performant, reliable, cost-efficient, and secure. This role combines hands-on responsibility for production data infrastructure with the opportunity to influence architectural decisions and data strategy in collaboration with our Senior Software Architect.

You will report to the Chief Product and Technology Officer and work closely with colleagues across software development, product, and infrastructure.

🎯 In this role, your responsibilities are:

Data Platform Operations & Ownership

  • Manage and contribute to the entire data pipeline from source databases to analytics platforms
  • Monitor the production environment and maintain system reliability
  • Optimize data platform performance, cost and efficiency while ensuring high availability
  • Develop innovative approaches to data analysis and information generation
  • Ensure data governance, compliance, and quality across the platform

Developer Support & Enablement

  • Support developers in building reports and new processing pipelines
  • Make data accessible, well-documented, and reliable for internal and customer use

Strategic Contribution & Innovation

  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Architect to evolve the technical data architecture
  • Contribute to strategic data decisions and develop innovative solutions
  • Ensure data security and compliance with company and regulatory standards

🏆 Your Qualifications:

Experience & Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Databricks
  • Proficiency in Change Data Capture (CDC) methodologies
  • Good knowledge of relational database systems, specifically SQL Server
  • Experience with Delta Live Tables and stream processing
  • Working experience with Kafka and Debezium for data streaming
  • Understanding of data security principles and DataOps practices
  • Bonus: Some experience in data science or analytics tooling
