Join our AI Innovation Lab in Wexford, Ireland, as an AI Data Engineer and help drive the development of cutting-edge AI solutions for Equifax UK&I. This integral role involves the design, management and delivery of analytical insights and solutions through data analysis, data management and data science. Primary activities include delivering technical, business strategic expertise and ensuring proper governance of data sources, models, attributes and analytic platforms. Accountable for the data and insight strategy and its execution for the company. Providing thought leadership both internally and externally regarding the use and application of data and analytics for competitive advantage. Success requires enabling the organization to effectively leverage its data assets for decision-making, innovation and strategic growth. Use engineering skills to optimize data processing and storage systems for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. Roles in this family involve a combination of software engineering, database management and the analysis of data. Demonstrates a genuine passion for innovation and AI. Familiarity with artificial intelligence and how it can improve process efficiency, effectiveness and products.
What you’ll do:
With moderate supervision, manage project's progress, metadata collection, development and management.
Perform investigations on internal / external stakeholder queries with high level direction from the Team Leader.
Analyse problems, identify root cause, formulate findings and observations of results, suggest resolutions and communicate to internal / external stakeholders with moderate guidance from the Team Leader.
Maintain current knowledge of industry regulatory requirements such as reporting mandates, concepts and procedures, compliance requirements, and regulatory framework and structure. Be able to support internal/external queries on data standards.
Enter/maintain information in documentation repository.
Follow established security protocols, identify and report potential vulnerabilities.
Perform intermediate level data quality checks, following established procedures.
Consistently delivers moderately complex projects on time and against key metrics, with quality and speed, understanding how to navigate or escalate obstacles or uncertainty that may arise.
Drive excellent execution. Uses experience and knowledge to find ways to complete work efficiently, using discretion to make suggestions on work improvement opportunities.
Have a sense of urgency, agility and grit.
Organizes own work independently, ensuring continuous alignments with leader's expectations and aims to deliver winning results.
What experience you need:
BS degree in a STEM major or equivalent discipline; Master’s Degree strongly preferred
2+ years of experience as a data engineer or related role
Cloud certification strongly preferred
Intermediate skills using programming languages such as Python, SQL or scripting languages
Basic understanding and experience with Google Cloud Platforms and an overall understanding of cloud computing concepts
Experience building and maintaining simple data pipelines, following guidelines, transforming and entering data into a data pipeline in order for the content to be digested and usable for future projects
Experience supporting the design and implementation of basic data models
Demonstrates proficient Git usage and contributes to team repositories
What could set you apart:
Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Computer Science , Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics or other related discipline a definite plus
Knowledge of the financial services industry
Contributions to open-source AI projects
Experience with data visualization tools
