Join our AI Innovation Lab in Wexford, Ireland, as a Senior AI Data Scientist, and drive the development of cutting-edge AI solutions for Equifax UK&I. You will be instrumental in shaping our data and insights strategy, leading key projects, and providing technical and strategic expertise. Play a key role in the AI Innovation Lab. Responsibilities include the design, management and delivery of analytical insights and solutions through data analysis, data management and data science. Primary activities include delivering technical, business strategic expertise and ensuring proper governance of data sources, models, attributes and analytic platforms. Accountable for the data and insight strategy and its execution for the company. Providing thought leadership both internally and externally regarding the use and application of data and analytics for competitive advantage Able to communicate analytical results to generate improved business decisions and profitability. Combines business requirements and existing processes and data knowledge to create analytical solutions. This role demands strong AI and machine learning skills, a passion for innovation, and the ability to mentor and lead within a collaborative team. Proven ability to collaborate effectively. Passion for pushing the boundaries of AI. Lead from the data engineering perspective and contribute to AI projects. Team to develop and implement AI models. Mentor junior analysts. Conduct data science analysis and interpretation. Stay up-to-date with the latest AI trends and technologies.

Our Data Scientist roles are unique. The ideal candidate is a rare hybrid, a scientist with the programming abilities to scrape, combine, and manage data from a variety of sources and a statistician who knows how to derive insights from the information within. He or she will combine the skills to create new prototypes with the creativity and thoroughness to ask and answer the deepest questions about the data, what secrets it holds, and to push the boundaries of what is possible with big data. What You’ll Do:

  • Utilize combined knowledge of data structures, analytics, algorithms/models, and strong computer science fundamentals to independently prepare datasets, conduct analytics, and develop deployable solutions

  • Collect, analyse and interpret large data assets to define and build multiple innovative solution components leveraging business and technical expertise.  Support the analytical strategy by understanding critical technical capabilities and suggesting opportunities. 
    Lead the development or projects with multiple deliverables, leveraging business and technical expertise.  

  • Work on high-complexity tasks in problems often within multiple business or analytical domains,  collaborating with other teams to develop predictive models, risk assessments, fraud detection, recommendation engines, etc. encouraging enhanced solutions 

  • Package, summarize, visualize and perform storytelling on analytical findings and results for management and business users

  • Communicate results to external stakeholders and mid level leadership, able to communicate business impact of work

  • Evaluate the technical work of peer and junior data scientists, guiding them on deliverable quality and accuracy

  • Consistently delivers moderately complex to complex projects on time and against key metrics, with quality and speed, understanding how to navigate or escalate obstacles or uncertainty that may arise

  • Drive excellent execution Uses experience and knowledge to find ways to complete work efficiently, using discretion to make suggestions on work improvement opportunities

  • Have a sense of urgency, agility and grit

  • Organizes own work independently, ensuring continuous alignments with the leader's expectations and aims to deliver winning results


What experience you need

  • BS degree in a STEM major or equivalent discipline

  • 5-7 years of experience in a related analytical role

  • Proven track record of designing and developing predictive models in real-world applications

  • Experience with model performance evaluation and predictive model optimization for accuracy and efficiency

  • Cloud certification strongly preferred

  • Additional role-based certifications may be required depending upon region/BU requirements

  • Applies a new perspective on existing solutions to solve complex problems

  • Makes decisions within guidelines and policies that impact a range of customer, operational, process, or project activities

  • Develops work plans for short-term assignments of moderate or high complexity

  • Solid experience in data analysis, machine learning, and AI development

  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based AI platforms and tools

  • Requires in-depth knowledge and experience needed to operate independently with limited guidance and oversight


What could set you apart

  • Passion for data science, data mining, machine learning and experience with big data architectures and methods

  • A Master's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Economics)

  • Experience with specific AI techniques, such as neural networks or natural language processing

  • Knowledge of the financial services industry

  • Contributions to open-source AI projects

  • Experience with data visualization tools

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Good communication and presentation and visualisation skills
