Data Management Product owner

We are looking for an enthusiastic product owner for the squad servicing Finance, Insurances and Collections.

As part of the development towards “Next Generation Digital Banking Platform” ”, ING is renewing the data management capabilities globally. On top of that, with the “New Banking Platform”, ING is renewing the products management back office completely.

Those two main programs for ING along with a lot of other initiatives will highly impact the data capabilities and require an extensive work to be done to ensure the continuity of the business and ensure at the same time we can help the product tribes to achieve their goals.

Together with data owners and data stewards in the organisation, we ensure that data is well defined, can be easily exchanged, that the data quality is monitored and that the data lake is set up according to security and privacy standards. We provide the data to important users like Finance, Risk, Analytics, ING Group, Product tribes, ….

The tribe is very international, with locations in Belgium (with people of various nationalities), Romania, and India.

Hierarchical reporting will be towards Product Lead for Data Management tribe.

Your job :

·                     You prioritise the backlog based on the input of the senior management, the other product owners and the priorities of the other departments of ING.

·                     You define the requirements with the stakeholders.

·                     You develop a product vision together with your squad. You assess the feasibility of the proposed solutions. You evaluate the user experiences with the developed solutions and define proposals for improvement.

·                     You secure the operational performance of the assets which are delivered and maintained by your squad. You define and prioritise the operational requirements and organise with your squad the operational tasks to be completed. 

·                     You continuously take the initiative to improve the way of work and the collaboration within your squad.

·         You discuss with business data owners/data stewards of the assets/ domains managed by your squad to understand their data, their data needs and business context;

·         You analyze the data to onboard in the data management platform, establish what data & how it will be sourced and structured in the Data Lake;

·         You establish what data will be supplied from the Data Lake to consumers;

·         You can create detailed specifications that DevOps engineers will use to source and structure data into the Data Lake;

·         You can create requirements on data quality, data lineage, data privacy, data security, and other relevant aspects of the data by recording the data definitions in the data dictionary and maintaining them as part of metadata management;

Your profile :

·         Experience in Agile way of working as a product owner or as a scrum master.

·         Knowledge and experience with data warehousing technologies and SQL

·         Conceptual and analytical.

·         Excellent communication skills.

·         Proficient in English (verbal and writing).

·         Enthusiastic  personality, who motivates the squad performance and supports the Agile way of working in multidisciplinary teams. Advocate of the “ING Orange Code”.

·         Master or bachelor degree

·         Knowledge and experience of the Financial Industry

·         Experience with data modelling techniques and data models development is a plus
