We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

PayPal, Inc. seeks Data Scientist 2 in New York, NY

Job Duties: Leverage data and analytics to drive strategy and initiatives while taking end-to-end ownership of key projects. Perform deep dive analyses on key business trends from multiple perspectives and package the insights into easily consumable presentations. Make data visually appealing and simple to both navigate and comprehend for end-users. Identify key metrics and drive the building of exec-facing dashboards to track the progress of the business and its highest priority initiatives. Identify key business levers, establish cause and effect, and communicate key findings to various stakeholders to facilitate data driven decision-making. Utilize the Objective and Key Results (OKR) framework to define product metrics and track product performance through dashboards and ad hoc analysis. Engage in problem solving with Risk, Product, Marketing, Design, Engineering and various other teams to determine performance trends and root causes. Help to design hypothesis-driven experiments; support new product launches by establishing test and control plans, providing cohesive and comprehensive recommendations based on test outcomes, and ensuring constant monitoring is in place to track product performance. Create close relationships with stakeholders to anticipate and answer questions that might be asked by executives. Combine findings to convey clear insights, and analyze large, complex, multi-dimensional data sets. Solve problems analytically and create actionable recommendations. Establish and promote best practices in analytics instrumentation and experimentation. Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. Guide and mentor junior analysts through complex analyses. Use reporting tools like Tableau, Looker, and/or Excel to share analysis. Possess fluency in SQL and at least one scripting language such as Python or R, comfortable working with large, complex and messy datasets. Translate complex problems into simpler terms, and effectively influence both peers and senior leadership. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Additional Job Description:

Salary: $170,373-241,800 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
