You will be part of Business Analytics & Network Desing team for Logistics & Services (L&S), responsible for establishing the network design capabilities & value driven analytics for product across L&S. As a Research Scientist, you will have a leading role in designing, building, maintaining, and iterating on network design products, play a key role in network optimization and unlock value through value driven analytics & optimization

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive the research science efforts for gathering network planning requirement as well as end to end supply chain optimization problems, identifying the data needs, designing the right models, and measuring the success of any experiments
  • Design and develop efficient research prototypes that solves network design problems and end to end supply chain optimization problems across products in L&S.  Work with relevant stakeholders to understand the business processes behind the data and incorporate their needs into any prototypes or experiments to enhance the potential value
  • Collaborate and communicate research prototype models’ rationale & results with leadership and business stake stakeholders
  • Work with the Products team to roll out network planning models
  • Analyse data and work with data analytics to drive the value of any proposed solution
  • Support business deep dives, support in performance analytics and conduct scenario simulations and identify optimization opportunities to unlock bottom line impact


To do this job, we imagine you have:

  • 5+ years of industry experience in building data science models and products, ideally in transportation / logistics industry PhD or M.Sc. in Operations Research, Machine Learning, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or other field related to algorithms and data (or equivalent experience)
  • Industry experience in one or more: Combinatorial optimization problems (e.g., scheduling, vehicle routing, facility location), Continuous optimization problems (e.g., linear programming, convex programming, non-convex programming), Predictive analytics (e.g., forecasting, time-series, neural networks), Prescriptive analytics (e.g., stochastic optimization, bandits, reinforcement learning)
  • Excellent record of delivery using languages like Python, R, Java and technologies like Hadoop, Git/SVN, JIRA etc
  • Good with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in rapid prototyping and experimentation to test ideas quickly
  • Ability to work independently with stakeholders while liaising and reviewing with the team
