We are seeking a visionary and technically adept Director of Generative AI to lead our AI strategy and execution in the CPG and retail domains. In this role, you will combine your deep expertise in ETL, data engineering, and advanced AI/ML modeling to architect, deploy, and scale generative AI solutions across the business. This is a leadership role that blends strategic foresight, hands-on technical depth, and cross-functional collaboration to solve high-impact business problems.

As the Director of GenAI, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of how we leverage large-scale data and advanced machine learning to drive innovation, personalization, automation, and operational efficiency in our CPG and retail ecosystem.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and scale the development of Generative AI models and end-to-end ML solutions tailored to business use cases in CPG and retail.
• Drive the creation, optimization, and maintenance of robust ETL processes, data pipelines, and data warehousing architectures to ensure data integrity, availability, and usability for ML models.
• Build scalable GenAI solutions using TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other modern ML frameworks; stay updated with the latest developments in LLMs, diffusion models, and other generative techniques.
• Guide the deployment of AI/ML systems in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP with a deep understanding of infrastructure, cost optimization, and scalability.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Product Managers, and Business Leaders to define roadmaps and deliver impactful AI projects aligned with strategic business goals.
• Develop a framework for responsible AI, focusing on fairness, transparency, and ethics in GenAI implementations.
• Mentor and manage a team of data scientists and ML engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, learning, and high performance.
• Define success metrics and evaluate model performance in real-world applications such as demand forecasting, customer insights, product personalization, marketing optimization, and supply chain automation.

Required Qualifications:

• 14+ years of experience in Data Science and Machine Learning, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership capacity.
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale AI/ML and GenAI projects in CPG or retail industries.
• Deep expertise in ETL, data wrangling, data warehousing, and data pipeline orchestration.
• Proficiency in TensorFlow, PyTorch, and modern GenAI libraries.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Advanced programming skills in Python and experience with ML Ops workflows.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and strategic thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D. or Master’s in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience with customer data platforms, recommendation engines, or AI-driven marketing in the CPG/retail space.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and data governance in AI applications.
