Quant / Data Scientist

Launched in 2020, Venus Protocol (a.k.a. “Venus”) pushed the edges of decentralized finance through its composition of two pre-existing solutions and deployment on BNB chain, lowering the barrier to entry for millions of new users around the globe. By combining the stablecoin minting facility introduced by Maker and algorithmic money markets developed by Compound, Venus simplified the user experience and provided core capabilities that enabled decentralized finance to flourish in a single application. As a result, Venus found remarkable success and quickly rose to be one of the most widely used decentralized applications in web3.

Job Responsibilities:

• Run SQL queries and Python data science scripts to build business reports
• Source data from disparate sources, including SQL databases, graphQL APIs, and blockchain nodes
• Create reports highlighting key metrics
• Collaborate with team leaders on business strategies and determining OKRs
• Assist developers in implementing data collection and analysis tool improvements
• Identify and advocate for team-wide areas of improvement and best practices

Job Requirements:

• Job Requirements:
• Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, or Economics
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role with at least 2 years working on a chain
• Prior experience generating insights across protocol risk management, Tokenomics, or mechanism design.
• Capable of building predictive analytics, forecasting, or statistical modeling.
• Financial analysis experience affecting decisions regarding millions or billions of dollars in assets or investments
• Advanced to expert SQL skills
• Moderate to advanced Python data science skills
• Knowledge of EVM based blockchains and smart contract mechanics

Good to have:

• Experience with DeFi architecture
• Experience with GraphQL
• Experience with Solidity
• Experience with cadCAD, or other systems modeling programs
