Job Description

We now need a results-driven Senior Product Data Scientist to join our Enterprise Data & Analytics team.

The Technology Division at Success Academy is the chief provider of technology infrastructure, application services, security, and support. The Division partners with teams across the organization to equip students, teachers, leaders, and staff with the innovative technology tools and know-how necessary to achieve academic and operational excellence.

As a Senior Product Data Scientist at Success Academy, you will be a key contributor to our mission of driving innovation and democratizing data across the organization. Reporting to the Leader of Data Science, you will partner with stakeholders to understand objectives and leverage data to identify opportunities and drive strategy.

Key responsibilities include: 

• Provide quantitative support, market understanding, and a strategic perspective to our partners throughout the organization

• Demonstrate analytical expertise and thought leadership with quantitative analyses to help Success Academy make better decisions

• Identify and measure success of efforts through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring of key metrics to understand trends

• Define, understand, and test opportunities and levers to improve operations through insights and recommendations

A successful applicant will have the following experiences and education:

• Degree in a technical field like Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Operations Research, or Physics. Graduate degree preferred. 

• At least 7 years of experience working within a corporation or consumer-focused environment in an analytic capacity. 3+ years of experience as a product data scientist/analyst or as a client facing consultant

• Strong presentation and data visualization skills to communicate data analysis in compelling ways

• Proficient data wrangler with strong technical skills in SQL. Preferably also proficient in a fast prototyping language (either Python or R)

• Understands when analytical sophistication is required and when an Excel projection will be best

• Proven expertise in data science and analytics, probability and statistics, time-series analysis, pattern recognition, optimization, and/or predictive modeling

• Ability to lead projects independently and communicate effectively across the organization

• Ability to collaborate with data analysts, software engineers, business partners and other stakeholders and act as an evangelist for data science/analytics principles and practices
