The Opportunity:

The Data & Analytics team (dna) drives the enterprise data and analytics strategy for the firm. The team is responsible for establishing a data foundation, building capabilities while setting standards and measurements for data quality, compliance, security, and retention of our data assets.

Colleagues within the overall team are organized in 2 sub-teams: (i) Data Governance and (ii) Data Engineering, Reporting & Analytics.

The position of a Data Governance Analyst involves a blend of operational and strategic tasks, focusing on data quality, compliance, and collaboration with various stakeholders. In this role you will work closely with the DnA and cross-functional teams to support our firm-wide Data Governance and Data Quality initiatives.

You will be primarily responsible to assist in designing and implementing data governance frameworks, help establish data management best practices, and ensure our core internal data assetsprovide a complete and accurate reflection of our business.

You will also assist in crafting the vision and the path of data domain workstream roadmap.

This is a hybrid role (at least 2 days per week working from the Warsaw office).

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for data governance issues related to a specific data domain.
  • Identify ways to optimize data-related workflows within the assigned workstream.
  • Oversee and support system deployment and data migration processes from a data governance perspective: define data requirements, establish data quality controls and partner with IT on data migration activities.
  • Assist with designing and maintaining data quality processes.
  • Conduct data validation and profiling tasks to ensure data accuracy, completeness and consistency within specific data domain.
  • Develop and execute more complex data quality checks.
  • Oversee periodic and ad-hoc data cleansing and data validation activities as part of data quality model expansion or new system implementation.
  • Serve as the escalation point for Associate DG Analysts for resolving (domain) data-related conflicts that are not covered by the existing processes and collaborate with them on the data quality and integrity issues.
  • Assist in audits and generate insights on key activities and transaction volumes.
  • Assist in cataloging key data assets that impact business operations across the organization.
  • Maintain and update data inventory lists.
  • Work on mapping data flow and lineage across systems to track the origins, movements, and transformations of data within the organization throughout its lifecycle.
  • May oversee data access and storage based on the established data security protocols and access policies (authorize and control access to data, implementing permission controls).
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders (and junior data governance team members) to ensure alignment on data governance practices and standards.
  • Assist with designing and implementing data governance workflows from the operational standpoint for the assigned workstream.
  • Help define and standardize data definitions, rules and requirements.
  • Collaborate with junior team members on aligning data practices with the internal data governance standards and requirements.
  • Train and assist junior colleagues in data management activities.
  • Conduct training sessions for business units on data governance practices.
  • Contribute to the development of training materials and resources on data governance policies and procedures to be used as a main reference point by team members and stakeholders.
  • Carry out any other tasks given by Manager within the scope of the job to ensure effective delivery and development of the service.

Key Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Fluent English
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining data quality standards and compliance measures.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and various stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a creative approach to data management.
  • High attention to detail, natural curiosity, and a persistent mindset in ensuring data accuracy
