The Role
As a Senior Data Analyst at MAG, you’ll play a crucial role in the execution of our strategic data and business intelligence priorities. Working within a team of data analysts, you’ll collaborate with the business and wider technology product team to identify opportunities where data and analytics can deliver value, develop dashboards and reporting requirements, and contribute to analytics backlogs. As a Senior, your role will be to advise the team how to add more value from both a technical and stakeholder management side leading the way in terms of innovation. You’ll liaise with the business intelligence development team, adopting an agile approach, as they create reporting solutions based on business stakeholders' requirements. You will act as a bridge between business areas and technology development teams. You’ll support the development of standards, documentation, and approach to gathering data requirements. Leveraging data to enhance our business decision-making is a critical priority for MAG as we seek build in a more digital way. Establishing a robust foundation in data and reporting is the first step, but as a senior data analyst, we also expect you to have the drive and ambition to push MAG beyond the basics. The potential for this role to influence the way our business perceives data and uses it to optimise operations and make informed commercial decisions is substantial.

 

What will make you a successful?

You’ll have substantial analysis experience and an understanding of project delivery methods including Agile and Waterfall, as well as an understanding of data governance and security within projects. You’ll also need the following skills and understanding including expertise with Power BI including efficiency of dashboards, DAX, permissions and access, Data Modelling / Data Warehouse design / Data Cataloguing. It’s a given that you’ll have strong oral, written and presentation skills, great stakeholder management skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple complex projects at the same time.
