Consultant – Natural Catastrophe Risk Consulting

About the Opportunity:
Marsh is seeking candidates for an exciting opportunity within our Property Risk Consulting practice. We are looking for an enthusiastic recent graduate or an Analyst with 1-3 years of experience to develop their risk consulting career. Reporting to the Head of Natural Catastrophe Loss Modelling, you will leverage your data collection and analysis skills to help create practical solutions for managing our clients' risks.
Our practice focuses on natural catastrophe modeling and risk engineering, utilizing statistical methods and engineering principles to support risk analysis and management activities aimed at enhancing client resilience against natural perils.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing practical solutions to assess our clients' natural hazard risks, including researching, collating, and analyzing data related to natural catastrophes and other insurable risks.
- Process raw data into digestible formats using tools such as GIS, Power BI, SQL, etc.
- Compile findings and analyses into professional reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with the team to create consistent, innovative, and sustainable approaches to delivering natural hazard risk consulting projects for existing and prospective clients.
- Adhere to established standard operating procedures and maintain accurate project records while staying within assigned budgets.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Studies, Geosciences, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in collecting, manipulating, and analyzing large data sets.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as R and Python.
- Familiarity with database software, including SQL Server or Microsoft Access, is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- Commitment to delivering high-level client service.
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
