Description
Position Purpose:
Analyzes data for creation of statistical reports used for program or process evaluation. Responsible for maintaining databases and extracting data for analysis. Runs and reviews reports, analyzing results in support of operational functions.
Logistics: PGBA – one of BlueCross BlueShield's South Carolina subsidiary companies.
Location:
This position is full-time (40 hours per week), Monday – Friday, in a typical office environment. It is located onsite in Surfside Beach, SC. Some travel between buildings and out of town.
Government Clearance:
This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance, which requires applicants to be a U.S. Citizen.
What You’ll Do:
- Reviews, extracts and analyzes data to be used in formulation of procedures, processes and other requirements. Provides reports of relevant activity to be used to identify problematic areas and to provide basis for modification and/or elimination of operations issues.
- Assists with development of complex analysis and sophisticated data compilation, verification, and interpretations to guide divisional efforts. Performs focused analyses as needed. Creates data search programs to identify pertinent data needed to provide supporting documentation for system or operational enhancements/changes.
- Documents reporting procedures so other staff can run ad hoc reports independently. Designs, codes, and maintains complex database programs for the extraction and analysis of data to support financial and operational decisions.
To Qualify for This Position, You’ll Need:
Required Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a job-related field OR 4 years of job-related work experience OR an Associate's degree AND 2 years job-related work experience.
Required Work Experience:
- 2 years of research and analysis experience.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational, customer service, communications and analytical skills.
- The ability to use complex mathematical calculations.
- Advanced knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts.
- Knowledge of relevant computer support systems.
- Knowledge of programming languages across various software platforms, using DB2, SQL, and/or relational databases.
- The ability to analyze data results, determine the source of aberrant statistics and resolve data issues.
Required Software and Tools:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of tools such as Visual Basic and Macros useful in automating reporting processes.
We Prefer You to Have:
- 4 years of research and analysis experience.
- Microsoft Access & Power BI skills.
- Analytical mindset.
- The ability to take initiative and to think outside the box.
- Excellent research skills.
