The Opportunity
We are seeking an innovative Data Scientist to join our growing Risk Management team. The Junior Data Scientist will be responsible for curating modeling data and developing and maintaining models used for the Lenders Protection® program. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, with 1-3 years of analytics or data engineering experience.

What You’ll Do:
- Analyze and curate data for a large loan/insurance/fintech portfolio
- Assist with building, implementing and maintaining machine learning models, credit risk scorecards, and other predictive models
- Extract and organize data from numerous structured and non-structured sources
- Identify patterns in portfolio/underwriting data that help influence credit policy, pricing and other underwriting / risk management practices
- Extract meaningful signals from large and varied datasets, including credit report data
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, MIS, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Finance or other quantitative/technical field required
- 1+ years experience with data wrangling in SQL, R or Python
- Ability to navigate a data warehouse and work with unstructured data
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Extensive coding experience a bonus
- Data modeling/organization knowledge a bonus
- Strong organizational skills
- Passion for analytics and innovation
- Currently live in the Dallas area and able to work in our Las Colinas office 2-3 times per week
