  • Collaboration with Data Teams-  Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and product teams to capture, document, and maintain metadata for both new and existing data assets. Ensure metadata is accurately defined, described, and annotated in line with editorial and organizational style guides.
  • Data Governance & Compliance- Ensure all metadata practices comply with data governance frameworks, industry regulations, and internal standards. Regularly audit metadata to ensure continued compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Enable Data Discoverability- Promote data discoverability and usability by ensuring that metadata is properly structured and aligned with user needs. Develop a taxonomy for data management and new product creations, facilitating easy access and navigation for internal and external users.
  • Training & Support- Provide training and support to stakeholders (internal teams, clients, etc.) on metadata tools, processes, and best practices. Foster a culture of metadata ownership across the organization to ensure its long-term effectiveness.
  • Content Tagging & Discovery Enhancement- Collaborate with stakeholders across technology and product teams to improve tagging processes, enhancing content and data discovery. Drive initiatives to improve searchability and retrieval through optimized metadata strategies.
  • Intellectual Property & Commercialization- Explore existing data assets and identify opportunities to develop core IP (e.g. potential entity masters) that can be commercialized. Work with product teams to create new metadata-driven products and services for the market.
  • Data & Content Catalogue Development- Lead the development of a programmatic, digital data and content catalogue that aids in the enterprise-wide distribution and sharing of data. Ensure the catalogue is user-friendly, scalable, and supports business objectives.
