Technology Intern – Power BI and Data Engineering

Join our dynamic team this summer as a Technology Intern – Power BI and Data Engineering for a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). The Power BI and Data Engineering Intern will play a crucial role in advancing our Data Analytics initiatives. By developing new and expanding upon existing analytics solutions utilizing Power BI, SQL, and DAX, the intern will explore various analytics use cases spanning from operational to financial analysis. They will participate in developing insights and data-based strategic guidance for multiple departments within Rexford.

Location: Hybrid – Los Angeles, CA

Key Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with the HR team to develop an Engagement Dashboard in Power BI, consolidating data from various sources and transforming it into meaningful, actionable insights.

· Partner with cross-functional teams and the Technology team on the development of Property Central, a new initiative serving as a one-stop shop for all Rexford property information.

· Support and enhance a Power BI app that measures the financial benefits of deployed analytics applications. This includes tracking user adoption, analyzing automation impact, and calculating person-hour savings by comparing labor costs with and without analytics tools.

· Maintain and update OPEX BI, an analytics app that tracks and projects the status of Operating Expenses for the Property Management group.

• Contribute to various other analytics and data automation projects across the organization.

Qualifications:

· Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

· Strong interest in Power BI and DAX

· Familiarity with SQL/Azure SQL/T-SQL

· Basic understanding of AI concepts and tools, ideally Copilot.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

• 10 week program beginning June 2, 2025 ending August 8, 2025

The expected hourly rate for this role is $20. *The actual hourly rate and total compensation offered depend on a variety of factors, which include, without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location where the job will be performed. The final hourly rate and total compensation will be described in any offer letter.
