Job Description

As our new Data Engineer, you will be part of the Data Platform team, working alongside Data Architects, Machine Learning teams, and business stakeholders to develop robust and scalable data pipelines. Our ambition is to enhance data visibility, shareability, and usability across the organization while ensuring high-quality, governed, and efficient data solutions.  

We are looking for a Data Engineer who can develop and optimize data pipelines, contribute to data modelling, and collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to improve data-driven decision-making, and help our business grow within the digital domain.  

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO  

  • Design, develop, and operate high-quality data flows on Azure to support AI products and business initiatives.   

  • Improve and optimize existing data solutions, with a focus on automation, performance, and cost-efficiency.  

  • Work closely with Data Architects to define data models, storage strategies, and best practices for ingestion and transformation.   

  • Collaborate with Machine Learning teams to provide high-quality, structured data for model training and inference.  

  • Ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards are met across all data solutions.   

  • Support and guide stakeholders in best practices for data ingestion, transformation, and consumption.  

  • Troubleshoot, monitor, and optimize data infrastructure, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability.   

  • Document data processes, architecture decisions, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and platform sustainability.

HOW YOU WILL SUCCEED IN YOUR ROLE  

  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.   

  • Proficiency in Azure Data Services, including but not limited to:  

  • Azure Data Factory (ETL/ELT pipelines) , Azure SQL Database, and Azure Data Lake Storage   

  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.  

  • Well-versed in processing JSON, XML, or CSV files.   

  • Experience interfacing with REST-based APIs.   

  • Proficiency in data processing and automation.   

  • Understanding of data modelling and designing efficient, scalable data structures.   

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Git-based workflows.  

  • Previous engaments with the DataBricks technology stack  

  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.  

  • You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills  

  • You are empathetic and maintain composure when dealing with many stakeholders and various expectations  

  • You enjoy teamwork and support colleagues to learn through knowledge sharing  

  • You are fluent in English and ideally also in the local language of your office
