PURPOSE OF CONSULTANCY

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) is looking for an information technology professional to coordinate and support Business Intelligence and Data Analytics projects as part of the Digital Transformation of PAHO´s Financial Resources Management (FRM) Department, and collaborate in the analysis, design, and implementation of several initiatives for the automation and streamlining of financial processes.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

The Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Consultant is responsible for the following:

•    Coordinate cross-functional teams in the implementation of Business Intelligence and Data Management solutions for PAHO FRM Department.
•    Participate in all stages of the development lifecycle and change management processes for delivered solutions.
•    Stakeholder coordination and reporting at multiple levels of the organization.
•    Work in close collaboration with other members of the IT team including but not limited to Digital Transformation and Applications development consultants. 

Data and Analytics
1.    Responsible for the financial data flow between Workday and MS Azure Data Warehouse and Power BI platforms.
2.    Collaborate with the IT team in all stages of Azure Data Factory service lifecycle - from initial research, prototyping, development, testing, debugging, all the way through deployment in production and operational readiness.
3.    Lead the implementation of Business Intelligence and Data Analytics initiatives to provide strategic insights into the operation of the FRM Department.
4.    Responsible for quality and completeness assurance of financial data loaded to the Data Warehouse.
5.    Develop and deliver end-user training materials and technical documentation for business intelligence and visualizations deliverables.

Solutions Development
1.    Analyze the status of financial processes and the recommendations for improving their operations.
2.    Gather, document, and analyze requirements to recommend solutions.
3.    Collaborate in the development of systems using Azure Cloud Services and Microsoft Development Stack.

Enterprise Resource Planning
1.    Support the implementation of process changes in Workday.
2.    Coordinate the Workday implementation of financial reporting and statements.
3.    Lead the implementation of solutions to improve the reporting capabilities of the FRM Department.
 

Qualifications and Requirements

•    5 years of experience in IT projects
•    Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science or other related field from an accredited institution
•    Exposure on the improvement of business processes and applications for enterprises functions
•    Strong technical skills in systems analysis, gathering requirements, system documentation and management of systems implementation projects  
•    Strong customer facing and communications skills, ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with a wide range of users, business owners, and high-level stakeholders.
•    Proven knowledge of Business Intelligence practices, PowerBI, Microsoft Data Warehousing and Data management. 
•    Strong experience in data transformation, data visualization, KPIs and Scorecards.
•    Fluency in English
•    Desirable: working knowledge of Spanish 

Technical Skills

•    Experience as a Power BI developer with Power Query, DAX and SQL skills.
•    Knowledge of applications of the Power Platform is desirable (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents).
•    Knowledge of Power BI Semantic is desirable.
•    User interface (UI) and end user experience (UX) skills to develop attractive visualizations.
•    Technical knowledge of Workday Financials and reporting capabilities desirable.
 

Position type: International PAHO Consultant Band B
Monthly salary fee: US $6,273
Duration: Initially until 31 December 2025
