Responsibilities

Peraton seeks an Cyber Operational Risk Analyst (ORSA) to provide data analysis of cyber operational risks (inclusive of supply chain risk) to specific mission areas.  Location:  Fort Meade, Maryland supporting the Mission Assurance mission at Joint Force Headquarters DoDIN. 

 

Working as expert to assist JFHQ-DODIN understand, identify, assess, and managing risks effecting the secure operation and defensibility of cyberspace, inclusive of DoD intelligence systems, missions support systems, weapon systems, new technology, capabilities, networks, cyber physical system, control systems, cloud environments, data stores, etc.

 

In this role, helps devise modeling and measuring techniques to investigate complex issues and solve problems as a member of a team.

 

Duties include:

  • Define and document analysis factors, risk reporting criteria, and risk categories applicable to the lowest required echelons
  • Propose mitigation and/or remediation strategies; identify and recommend cyber terrain/activities which may impact the successful execution of DoD missions, make recommendations, and establish requirements for improved capability, capacity, and/or operation of systems
  • Develop and document continuous and repeatable assessment methodologies to enable aggregation of risk across the depth and/or breadth of the DODIN
  • Develop metrics, trend analysis, and other continuous assessments to provide command leadership situational awareness on the effectiveness directed actions
  • Provide qualitatively and quantitatively supported recommendations regarding cyber postures
  • Document & capture activities, models, simulations, and analyses techniques for simulation scenarios

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D. Will consider HS with 16 years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Must have strong background in data analytics
  • Analysts must possess experience with creating analysis and conducting assessmentsfrom a cyber-threat perspective capable of supporting the development of Python scripts and packages that will be used by the data analysts.
    • Familiar with advanced Python data science packages (pandas, networkx, scikit-learn, pyTorch or TensorFlow/Keras, matplotlib or plotly, etc.)
    • Familiar with building Python scripts using supervised and unsupervised ML (both text and image-based machine learning), natural language processing (named entity extraction, summarization, etc.), and/or network analysis (social network analysis, centrality analysis, dynamic network analysis)
    • Familiar with maintaining and deploying a notebook-based data science environment (JupyterHub)
  • Able to provide detailed written and oral briefings to senior JFHQ DODIN leadership
  • Experience analyzing large amounts of data and ability to prepare, write, and present reports at the executive and/or congressional levels
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team 
  • Able to surge support as required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional Suite of applications
  • US citizenship required
  • Minimum active DOD TS/SCI Clearance 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education in mathematics, statistics, etc. and/or background quantitative experience
  • Experience with model development and testing as well as gathering, relating, and identifying data with variables in models.
  • Possess an in-depth understanding of cyberspace doctrine, policies, operations, and organizations
  • Able to develop reports noting various alternatives and success probability 
  • DoD 8570 IAT III (CISSP, CASP, CISA, GCED, GCIH)  - not required

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
