Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst provides analytics and decision support at a corporate level supporting the executive staff as well as the broader finance community. The Senior Analyst will be on a team responsible for the development of a shared reporting & analytics infrastructure as well as directly providing reporting, analysis, and insight to the executive teams based on that infrastructure. The successful candidate will be able to dialogue with business leaders about the top of mind questions the company has, go off and gather/develop the required datasets, apply a variety of techniques to analyze/test the business hypothesis, and then summarize back the findings at an executive level (with clear data/method driven substantiation). This position has the potential to significantly influence the direction of the company and the financial performance.
Responsibilities
Access and Integrate information/data from a variety of sources and bring it together into a structured environment for analytics and reporting
Develop, maintain, and tune varying complexity databases to ensure availability and integrity of data
Automate integrations between data sources and processes to expedite availability of information, consistency in results, and minimize the cost structure to support the environment
Deploy a lightweight application for moderately skilled users to be able to access the underlying data in a self-service nature for ad-hoc information requests
Develop a standardized set of dashboards accessible via the network and mobile devices
Develop and Automate the delivery of standardized reporting to be used in Executive level presentations or distributed via email/mobile to end users
Partner with the leadership team and the broader finance/business community to stay abreast of current business concerns, potential opportunities, and information needs
Employ a variety of analytical techniques to discover, identify, and conclude analysis both reactively to leadership requests and proactively based on our own curiosity/desire to move the business
Contribute to the broader financial/Enterprise tools roadmap in partnership with Finance/IT leadership
Define and document core business metrics, definitions, and logic collaborating with the business teams
Deliver analysis and findings to leadership and business teams…often through formal presentation
Maintain knowledge and stays current of developments in the fields of technology, business intelligence, data warehousing, data science, and emerging technologies (machine learning, AI, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related
5+ years of systems / business analysis experience
Ability to extract and integrate data leveraging technologies such as (SQL, Snowflake, ODBC, ETL Tools, Oracle, DB2, Access)
Familiarity with reporting / analytical apps such as (Power BI, Oracle BI, Tableau, SAS, Cognos, Bus Objects)
Ability to automate reporting/analysis as well as operational processes (VBA, JavaScript, .NET, Perl, Python, R)
Ability to define problems, collect data, perform analysis, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of senior management, department heads, and the Finance/IT/Business teams
Attention to quality, reconciliation, and accuracy are critical as the audience is often executive level staff and the decisions being made are significant in scope/impact
Creativity and vision to recommend ways to evolve our infrastructure, process, and analytic capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
Masters in Business or Mathematics
Familiarity with statistical analysis methods, AI type concepts, visualization techniques, etc.
