The Johns Hopkins University Krieger School of Arts and Sciences is seeking a Research Assistant - Fulltime within the Department of Mathematics. Under the supervision of a faculty investigator, the Research Assistant will conduct research, execute coding tasks, analyze data, collaborate with research partners, and assist with writing research papers. This position is expected to last approximately 6 months, with the potential for extension contingent upon the research progress and funding availability.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Perform research in the areas of stochastic processes, control systems, probabilistic and statistical techniques in machine learning.
When the research projects in the above directions require it, collect and analyze corresponding data sets, generate data through computer simulations, and write code for the analysis of data sets by implementing the statistical techniques developed in the research phase.
Assist with the writing and editing of manuscripts.
Present research projects and their results at meetings and conferences.
Assist with tasks on other research projects as required.

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
Strong skills in verbal and written communications, technical writing, and note-taking and editing.
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc,)

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics.
Previous research in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics.
Some coding knowledge in Python, Matlab, C, R, or similar languages.
