Wood is recruiting for a Data Management professional to join its Projects West business focusing on Oil, Gas & New Energies and Process & Chemicals. This opportunity is Remote.  Working hours will be mainly in Mountain Standard time zone.

We will consider remote work for international candidates, but work hours must be in sync with our Americas team work hours. If located in Canada, may be required to work in office depending on location and availability.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Management Professional who will be responsible for defining and maintaining the interfaces into a project data consolidation repository, managing the engineering data content that is provided to the end user and defining data exports/reporting per project requirements.

Typical responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the project Data Management (DM) strategy and DM plan ensuring compliance with the relevant client and company global standards and solutions
  • Work with the information management manager to build and connect multiple databases to display and analyse data in different ways
  • Request setup and define configuration requirements for the project’s engineering information data repository, coordinate with the project team and application technical support for project workspace creation, development, maintenance and archival
  •  Ensure all metadata is consistently entered into the data repository database and that all handover data meets the requirements for the data delivery to the client
  • Perform basic quality control and completeness checking by coordinating with the project disciplines, third parties, client and source application technical support to resolve and data inconsistencies, errors or mapping issues ensuring required standards and processes are maintained
  • Run queries and define interfaces, reports, and exports for development by application technical
  • Support as required to support project execution and handover
  • Conduct data repository user training for the project team, clients or third parties
  • Maintain a list of all client and third-party users with access to data repository project sites and
  • Inform Group IT Support when client or third-party AD accounts are to be added and/or deleted
  • Provide and Manage user (internal & External) access to project data repositories / systems (e.g.
  • Project drives, EDMS, SharePoint, Engr Systems)
  • Ensure applicable data management policies and rules are implemented and adhered to
  • Provide a technical point of contact for internal and external clients, supporting their data analyst requirements interfacing with multidisciplinary team to generate and collate data; generate queries to summarize and analyse the data; produce data summaries and reports
  • Assist in developing strategies work processes and procedures for data management

Expected: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Courses in Power Platform or related technologies.
  • Experience with data modelling, DAX, and Power Query.
  • Familiarity with Azure services and integration
  • Proven experience in developing solutions using Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Apps, and REST APIs is a must.
  • Previous history of using AI to automate mundane activities
  • Strong understanding of Office 365 and its integration capabilities.
  • Analytical skills to determine how different components may work together, identify critical issues, draw conclusions and provide a solution
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders
  • Understanding Business to support leveraging technology to drive functional objectives
  • Fluency in English is required both written and spoken

 

Desirable:

  • Our ideal candidate will be someone who has worked in an EPC organization and has been exposed to multi-disciplinary engineering efforts. The person would benefit from but is not required to have a PMP designation, as exposure to project management activities will need to be relied upon to develop applications and interfaces to simplify workflows
