Position Title: College Intern (PN 20093802)

Data Governance Internship Overview:

The Ohio Department of Medicaid is seeking a College Intern to join our Data Governance team. Internships at The Ohio Department of Medicaid focus on enhancing student knowledge and experience by providing opportunities for the intern to partake in agency projects, organizational needs and specific work assignments that relate to the intern’s field of study. We offer flexible days, hours, and internship duration to meet agency expectations and student’s schedule.

The College Intern will support Medicaid’s Data Governance team, within the office of Data & Integrated Systems. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the Data Governance team by organizing and tracking governance documents, tracking data requests, and documenting best practices in ODM data governance processes
  • Support the Data Governance team by assisting in promoting efficient, accurate records and effective information management/data sharing throughout the organization
  • Assist in the facilitation of data request & projects
  • Provide assistance to analysts with governance questions
  • Attend meetings and conference calls related to state and federal reporting requirements
  • Assist with other projects important to Ohio Medicaid programs
  • Prepare meaningful, concise & accurate reports, and present findings

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Preferred Majors: Business Administration, Public Administration, or other applicable majors

Preferred Skills

  • Effective verbal & written communication skills
  • Understanding of computer development cycles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative
  • Team player and ability to effectively work independently with oversight

Supplemental Information

This internship is part-time, temporary.

This position is unclassified per 124.11 (A) (12), Ohio Revised Code.

Travel required, as needed. Must provide own transportation. Or, in order to operate a state vehicle, you must have a valid driver's license from state of residence.

The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check.
