Data Governance Analyst

Your Role: As a Data Governance Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting data governance initiatives across UniSuper. You will work on projects involving data catalogue uplifts, data curation, data lineage documentation, and supporting the data management journey at UniSuper. Your strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management abilities will be key to your success as you collaborate with various stakeholders from different areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to data governance policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Contribute to internal and external audits as needed.
  • Work with the business to understand and collate various metadata, including terms and definitions, data classifications, and streamlining processes to reduce effort, uplift compliance, and deliver business value.
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities, working autonomously and collaboratively as required.
  • Help shape and grow the data governance functionality at UniSuper.

About You:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience with at least 2 years in project, technical, or process analysis.
  • Data Migration, Data Transformation, Technical Solutions experience will be highly valued
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in technical skills such as SQL, Python, and R (highly valued).
  • Experience with data cataloguing solutions like Alation (highly valued).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology for project and BAU.
  • Ability to self-manage end-to-end delivery of small initiatives.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office tools to develop data governance-related artefacts.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework under which superannuation funds operate (good to have).
  • Superannuation or Financial Services experience is a plus.
