We are seeking a Data Engineer to support a client in the energy regulatory sector. Prior experience or familiarity with the energy industry is highly desirable. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team of five, overseeing the day-to-day delivery of a key workstream. You will also collaborate closely with leads from two parallel workstreams, ensuring alignment on cross-team dependencies and cohesive project delivery. Your workstream's core objective is to centralize data to enable AI functionality and seamless software integration across systems. As such, we are looking for someone with strong expertise in:
- Data Centralization Strategies
- Data Integration APIs
- ETL/ELT Pipeline Development
- Data Warehousing (e.g., Azure, Redshift, Snowflake)
In addition to technical skills, the ideal candidate will bring strong soft skills in:
- Cross-functional Collaboration – working with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- System Design Thinking – architecting scalable and maintainable data solutions
This is a leadership position requiring both strategic oversight and hands-on technical guidance.

Travel for team and client meetings is required, typically up to 15%.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in launching data-driven digital products and services at scale.
- 10-12+ years of experience in data engineering, with 3+ years in a technical leadership role.
- Your story/portfolio reflects a solid foundation in using data and applying data engineering to solve business problems. Your work to solve these is an appropriate mix of pioneering and pragmatic.
- 3+ year team management experience through project accountability.
- Proven experience in architecting and optimizing large-scale, real-time data platforms in cloud environments.
- Mastery of distributed data processing systems, real-time analytics platforms, and ETL frameworks (e.g., Kafka, Spark, Flink).
- In-depth knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with a focus on data storage, processing, and analytics.
- Strong coding skills in Python, Java, or Scala, with the ability to contribute to and review complex codebases.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to drive innovation and technical excellence within a team.
- Firm understanding of GenAI and MLOps, and an ability to own and present an informed perspective.
- Proven track record of leading large, complex projects involving real-time data processing, ETL pipelines, and data warehousing.
- Effective time management skills to balance multiple project demands with fast-paced deadlines.
- Have generated statements of work, new business pursuits and project definitions, and are able to spot opportunities for account growth.
- Great interpersonal skills and the ability to galvanize and inspire others.
- Team player as well as have the capacity to mentor and champion others.
- Have a chosen area of expertise tied to an industry, domain or skill that is of great value in a client setting.
- Ability to contribute to the brand and voice of Method through thought leadership and content creation.
- Ability to manage multi-million-dollar data projects and budgets.
