As our Data Engineer youâll play a key role in new initiatives that we are kicking off around the core of our business: survey data. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of Data Engineers, Software Engineers, and PMs, designing and delivering tailored data solutions while helping to build a modern data platform from the ground up. Thus, youâll contribute directly to GWIâs goal of embedding consumer insights at the heart of every organization. Itâs also fun; shaking things up is what working for a growing company is all about. What do I need to bring with me? đ§ł
Youâll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that youâre willing to learn. Hereâs what the team will be looking for:
đ Proven experience as a Data/Analytics Engineer with a strong track record of impactful project delivery đ Proficiency in SQL and Pythonđ Expertise in designing and implementing end-to-end data pipelines, including workflow orchestration, data modeling, transformation and quality đ Hands-on experience with cloud data stacks, including tools like BigQuery (or equivalents), workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow (or similar), data transformation tools like dbt (or comparable frameworks) and data engineering engines such as Apache Spark đ Exposure to LLM-adjacent data engineering concepts such as graph and vector databases, embeddings, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) is a strong plus đ Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control (Git), code reuse, code reviews, testing, and documentation đ Understanding of CI/CD and infrastructure concepts đ Knowledge of data governance practices, including data accessibility, cataloging, and quality assurance đ Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills, committed to achieving team objectives and success
