Lightspeed is rapidly growing, and we're looking for a skilled Data Analyst I to join our expanding Hospitality Data Team within the product department. As strategic data partners, this team works closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Developers to deliver actionable insights that guide product development and strategic decisions. Your contributions will directly impact product performance and play a crucial role in shaping our business strategy, helping to drive overall company growth through data-driven solutions.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams:
    Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, Designers, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver relevant insights and support, contributing to product and business strategy.
  • Support Data Analysis:
    Perform analyses such as customer segmentation, customer health analysis, and impact measurement of product development initiatives using Python and SQL.
  • Contribute to Data Warehouse Management:
    Help manage and maintain our data warehouse, ensuring data is clean, accurate, and accessible for downstream analysis, particularly in cloud environments such as BigQuery.
  • DynamoDB Data Extraction and Visualization:
    Assist in accessing DynamoDB to extract relevant data and collaborate on building real-time visualizations that drive informed business decisions.
  • Dashboard and Report Maintenance:
    Maintain dashboards using tools like Heap and BigQuery to help teams track KPIs and user behaviors. Collaborate on creating a catalog of reusable dashboards for Product and UX teams.
  • Segment Collaboration:
    Support in setting up, maintaining, and testing the Segment customer data platform, aligning it with our data strategy and objectives.
  • Foster a Data-Driven Culture:
    Contribute to fostering a data-driven culture within the team by sharing insights, promoting best practices, and assisting team members with data analysis challenges.
  • Work in an Agile Environment:
    Collaborate effectively in an agile environment, working closely with cross-functional teams to meet dynamic business needs and deliver data insights in line with product development cycles.

What You'll Bring:

Experience:

    • 2-3+ years of experience in Python, with strong capabilities in data analysis and scripting.
    • 2-3+ years of experience in SQL, with experience in BigQuery and Dataform as a plus.
    • Familiarity with Customer Data Platforms like Segment and analytics tools like Heap.

Technical Skills:

      • Python Proficiency: Strong ability to script for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis (Pydantic, Scikit-learn, Poetry).
      • SQL Proficiency: Experience in querying and manipulating data using SQL, with a focus on cloud platforms such as BigQuery.
      • Data Visualization: Experience building and maintaining dashboards with tools like Heap, Looker, or Google Data Studio.
      • Version Control: Familiarity with Git and version control best practices.
  • As a Plus:
    • Experience working with data warehouses, particularly Dataform or similar data transformation frameworks.
  • Communication & Collaboration:
    Strong communication skills, with the ability to present data insights effectively and collaborate with different teams across the organization.
  • Business Acumen & Problem-Solving:
    Ability to translate data into actionable business insights that directly inform business strategy and product development.
  • Teamwork: Collaborative spirit, with the ability to contribute to shared goals within a dynamic, cross-functional, and agile environment.
