About the role

A new opportunity is available to join Origin Energy’s People & Culture team as our Data Analyst – Industrial Relations Assurance. In this role, you will conduct data analysis to support pay compliance and remediation processes, ensuring that obligations are met, and team members are paid correctly and fairly.

If you enjoy working with data, interpreting complex rules and converting them into practical insights and collaborating with stakeholders to address business challenges, then this role is for you. You will contribute to maintaining trust and accountability within Origin Energy.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the data analysis of potential pay compliance issues to identify any gaps and ensure timely remediation where required.
  • Support internal and external audit activities and assurance processes.
  • Analyse rostering and hours-of-work data to mitigate compliance risks.
  • Validate reconciliation processes to ensure ongoing compliance with entitlements.
  • Use data to drive smarter workforce scheduling and HR process improvements.
  • Communicate insights simply and clearly, including presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders.

What will you bring?

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring curiosity, integrity, and a proactive mindset. You’re detail-oriented, collaborative, and confident communicating complex issues simply. You take ownership, seek better ways of doing things, and care deeply about doing what’s right — for the business and its people.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce, business, IT or a related field.
  • Advanced Excel and Power BI skills and experience with SQL.
  • Hands-on experience in data analysis within HR or payroll operations.
  • Knowledge of industrial relations, time & attendance, and payroll compliance.
  • Experience with systems like SuccessFactors and WFS
  • Excellent communication skills and a knack for turning complex problems into practical solutions
  • Passion for precision, problem-solving, and making a difference.

So why join us?

  • 20 weeks of paid leave for primary carers with flexible return options.
  • Thrive in a culture of personal and professional growth.
  • Enjoy a central CBD location with access to parking and public transport.
  • Purchase up to four additional weeks of leave annually.
  • Engage in opportunities through the Origin Foundation to support your community.
  • Powering your career with unbeatable perks - get discounted electricity, gas, and internet as an Origin employee.
