Computational Data Analyst, Jr

Job Summary:
 
The Candidate selected for this position will work closely with senior staff to address complex scientific problems using computational techniques and theories to analyze data and solve problems.
 
Responsibilities:

• Perform independent research and develop the proper approach/solution to related scientific problems will be important considerations in the selection process.
• Collaborate with senior scientists and engineers, clients, and other staff to identify the specific problems.
• Implement mathematical theories and techniques to solve or work toward a solution.
• Develop and use various computational methods to solve engineering problems.
• Create statistical or mathematical models to use in analyses or computer modeling simulations.
• Develop and assess mathematical theories and models.
• Collects and analyzes data to identify trends and relationships.
• Prepares and presents research results to engineers, managers, and clients.
• Select and apply testing methods and algorithms.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Must be a US citizen.
• Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance. 
• Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or related STEM field.
• Thorough understanding of mathematics and data processing
• Proficiency in scientific computer programming languages and tools (C, R, Python and Matlab)
• Ability to evaluate and analyze data.
• Excellent deductive reasoning skills.
• Ability to use computer code and modeling to solve problems.
• Extremely proficient with analytical and scientific software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in mathematical concepts and techniques (ie. Linear Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Statistical Analysis)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•  Successful background and drug screening check.

Preferred Requirements:

• Familiar with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence capabilities
• Familiar with Computational Methods for Fluid Dynamics
• Fundamental knowledge of engineering and numerical analysis
• Basic understanding of Finite-difference methods and finite-volume methods
