Director, Enterprise Systems – Data Architecture (112)

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced leader for our Data Architect team to spearhead the transformation of the data warehouse from on-prem to the Azure Cloud space. As the Director of Data Architecture, you will lead solution design, develop governance, and manage your global team’s deliverables and quality control. You and your team are responsible for managing data for Skyworks’ global organization.

Responsibilities

• Direct and lead cross-functionally to implement the organization’s data architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure smooth functioning of the enterprise data system.
• Enable the data science team by establishing robust data pipelines that ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable data flow, enabling advanced analytics and informed decision-making.
• Drive the evolution and architecture for scalable and secure data platforms.
• Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture and Product teams to design and implement a modern data architecture.
• Engage with strategic internal customers and ensure their future needs and vision are considered in solution design.
• Oversee deployment of long-term strategic data products infusing key data and analytics services in applicable areas of the business and IT.
• Design and own conceptual and logical data models, data flows, and integration patterns for the data lake, data lakehouse, and consumption data layers. Communicate build strategy to team ensuring accurate and quality outcomes delivered on time.
• Provide guidance and architecture direction to the data engineering team to build data models which reflect how data will be consumed by functional teams like Finance, Supply Chain, and others. Develop the relationship between the different data sources. 
• Develop and enforce data standards, procedures, and definitions for data governance ensuring understanding and adoption across the business landscape.
• Effectively manage global resources and implement a cost-effective geographic resource strategy.

Required Experience and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or closely related field; Master’s degree in related field is a plus
• 15+ years of applicable experience with 10+ years of specific IT experience in managing solution designs.
• Hands-on experience architecting and building secure, scalable, and flexible enterprise data projects in Microsoft Azure.
• Effective communication skills (verbal, written, presentation/public speaking)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable multitasking between multiple projects
• Ability to work on challenging issues independently or in a team environment.
• Ability to work effectively with international and multicultural teams and with all levels of management
   

Desired Experience and Skills

• Expertise in building secure and scalable data ingestion, ETL/ELT solutions using Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or similar tools.
• Experience designing data structures and models for data lakes and cloud data lakehouse for downstream analytics applications.
• Strong SQL skills and programming skills using Python and Pyspark
• Experience with orchestration and automation of data pipelines to build DevOps model.
• Experience with DevOps and DataOps (Terraform, Azure DevOps, Unity Catalog and Purview)

The following technical skills are considered a “plus”:

• Experience in machine learning including ML Flow.
• Experience in containerization (Docker), Kubernetes, and container deployment.
• Knowledge of the semiconductor manufacturing industry

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $139,100 - $278,300 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
