Senior Data Analyst

About the role 

An exciting opportunity exists for a result driven, innovative Senior Data Analyst to source alternative datasets, develop data strategy roadmaps and drive data integrity and insights for Finance. High data quality is at the core of QIC’s ability to deliver valuable insights to stakeholders with respect to financial and investment reporting. Finance Solutions are responsible for providing Finance related advisory services and solution support across QIC.  Located within the Finance division, the team exists to support and maintain QIC Finance applications as well as to enhance and deliver process improvements, reporting and analytics solutions, financial reporting, procurement governance and technical accounting support across QIC.  

Key responsibilities will include: 

• Building logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality. 
• Working in collaboration with key stakeholders across the business to drive data integrity and develop and implement data strategy roadmaps.  
• Interrogating data to illustrate any anomalies, issues and reconciling differences amongst datasets. 
• Ensuring data integrations to and from finance systems are validated through the utilisation of appropriate tools.  
• Proactively contributing to data mining initiatives and dashboard visualisation developments.  

About you 

You will be someone who actively engages with the business, with a passion for bringing data to life and will likely meet the following criteria: 

• Degree in Data Science, Business/Commerce, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent.  
• Exceptional attention to detail with a curious and adaptable mindset. 
• Proven experience building data models, automated reports and dashboards. 
• Strong financial modelling skills, with an ability to adapt and learn systems quickly.  
• Ability to work in an agile environment with minimal supervision.  
• Experience with interrogating enterprise systems, applications, and middleware processes.   
• Experience with Microsoft Office PowerApps (PowerBI, PowerAutomate etc).
