Data Science Apprentice – Building the Future of Knowledge at GiG

At GiG, we're driven by data, and our Data Science team is at the forefront of innovation. We're seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Data Science Intern to join us in developing a cutting-edge documentation chatbot. This is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience, work with real-world data, and contribute to a project that enhances knowledge sharing across the organisation.

As a Data Science Intern, your primary focus will be on the development of a documentation chatbot. This chatbot will provide quick and easy access to essential information, streamlining workflows and improving efficiency for our teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chatbot Development: Contribute to the development of a basic documentation chatbot with the ability to answer questions on GiG Data Segmentation, GRE, GiG Broker, SQL Connectivity, Market Packages, and KPI definitions.
  • Data Handling and Preparation: Assist in the collection, cleaning, and preparation of data to train the chatbot.
  • Model Building: Help with the development and training of machine learning models to power the chatbot's natural language processing capabilities.
  • WebUI: Assist in the development of a simple WebUI for the chatbot.
  • Testing and Evaluation: Participate in testing the chatbot to identify areas for improvement and ensure accuracy.
  • Documentation: Document your work, including data sources, methodologies, and results.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Data Science team and other stakeholders to ensure the chatbot meets the needs of the organization.
  • Learning: Eagerly learn new technologies and methodologies to elevate processes, making a measurable impact on business outcomes.

Your Profile:

  • Education: Currently pursuing a degree in a quantitative field (e.g., computer science, statistics, mathematics).
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with SQL, Python, or R is a plus.
  • Eagerness to Learn: A strong desire to learn and develop your skills in data science and machine learning.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to approach problems logically and creatively.
  • Communication: Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Passion for Data: A genuine interest in data and its potential to drive business value.
