Job Summary:

The Managing Consulting Engineer makes innovative and ingenious contributions to new solution/product design and implementation, based on understanding of applicable technology and how it can be applied to solution design, considerations of system-wide impact and business issues for clients.  Provides technical expertise in analyzing client’s requirements to develop IT services offerings across multiple technology solutions that provide significant value. Supports complex engagements across multiple geographies. 

We are seeking a skilled and client-focused AI Infrastructure Consultant to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of AI and machine learning infrastructure for our clients. This role bridges deep technical expertise with strong consulting and communication skills to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance AI solutions that meet diverse client needs.

As a trusted advisor, you will work directly with enterprise clients to understand their goals, recommend best-fit architectures, and help operationalize AI initiatives from proof of concept through production deployment.

What you will do:

• Lead a project team, directing coworker and client teams in solution design and development. Provide leadership in creating business cases, financial justification and solution benefit content for customer ready deliverables and presentations.
• Proactively addresses or escalates any budget issues that are identified during the project.
• Quality Assurance for SOW requests that meet triggers for size, cross brand, and complexity. Perform peer review of deliverables from other team members for technical content to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain client relationships as a trusted Technical Advisor. Serve as focal point for communications between multiple departments and clients, when necessary, using experience and judgment to communicate effectively to all parties. Recommend solutions supporting client account teams with development of proposals, quotations, and presentations.
• Engage with clients to assess AI readiness, infrastructure needs, and strategic objectives.
• Design and implement AI/ML infrastructure solutions tailored to client environments.
• Lead workshops and discovery sessions to gather requirements and build solution roadmaps.
• Deploy and optimize cloud-based and on-premises AI infrastructure leveraging Kubernetes, Docker, and MLOps frameworks.
• Provide guidance on data pipeline design, model training infrastructure, and scalable inference solutions.
• Implement MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, model versioning, monitoring, and governance.
• Collaborate with client teams—including data scientists, DevOps, and IT—to integrate solutions into their existing ecosystems.
• Stay up to date with advancements in AI hardware/software and share insights with both clients and internal teams.
• Provide documentation, knowledge transfer, and post-implementation support.

What we expect of you:

• The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or a related technical field and 7 years of IT Infrastructure experience, including 3 years of experience with large enterprise cross-brand projects, OR 
• 11 years total Information Technology experience, to include 7 years of IT Infrastructure experience, including 3 years of experience with large enterprise cross-brand projects. 
• The candidate must demonstrate the ability to multitask and prioritize workload under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. They should have proven organizational, time-management, problem-solving, and follow-up skills. They should also be able to manage and escalate technical issues to the appropriate vendor support team.
• The ideal candidate will serve as a Technical Advisor, maintaining client relationships and leading technical communications between departments and clients. They will provide technical expertise in analyzing client requirements, developing IT service offerings, and supporting internal account teams with proposals and presentations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to present technology recommendations to clients. The candidate should effectively handle change and ambiguity, research complex technology solutions, and recommend alternatives that meet client needs.
• The candidate should have demonstrated experience applying lessons learned to unique problems and a history of reskilling on new technologies with the ability to determine benefits for clients. They must be able and willing to work beyond their regularly scheduled shift, select weekends, overtime as necessary or on occasion to meet operational needs. They should also have the ability and willingness to travel as needed to other CDW locations or client sites. A valid U.S. driver’s license is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in AI/ML infrastructure, cloud engineering, or related consulting roles.
• Strong experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP), including infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation).
• Deep familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Working knowledge of distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Ray, Spark) and model serving platforms (Triton, TensorRT, ONNX).
• Experience with MLOps tools like MLflow, Kubeflow, or similar.
• Strong scripting/programming skills (Python, Bash, etc.).
• Previous experience in a professional services or consulting role.
• Familiarity with AI accelerator hardware (e.g., NVIDIA GPUs, TPUs) and hybrid/edge deployments.
• Hands-on experience with NVIDIA AI technologies, including CUDA, cuDNN, and the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software suite.
• Knowledge of NVIDIA hardware platforms such as DGX systems and networking technologies like NVIDIA Mellanox.
• Experience deploying and optimizing inference using NVIDIA Triton Inference Server.
• Certifications in cloud platforms or relevant AI/ML technologies.
• Experience managing cross-functional projects and stakeholder communications.

Pay range: $ 140,000 - $ 160,000 depending on experience and skill set
Annual bonus target of 10% subject to terms and conditions of plan
