The Product Lead Trade Surveillance, Vice President, will lead the implementation of the trade surveillance integrations for the business. The person in this role will lead the business integration of the data vendors, will define surveillance product strategy, and will be responsible for reporting on implementation progress and deliverables. This individual will work with contracted trade surveillance vendors and with Information Technology (IT) to implement phased trade surveillance deliverables and will be a subject matter expert on trade surveillance.
This role is highly visible. The chosen individual will frequently meet to senior executives and may present at industry events.
This role can be performed in various locations across US and London, UK as per the list below. Each location has a different hybrid model, from 1 to 4 days per week onsite can be required. Specific responsibilities include:
Work with business leads to ensure that trade surveillance is an effective control
Analyze market abuse risks associated with the portfolio of businesses covered by SSGM Market Surveillance and understand market abuse regulations in the jurisdictions where the company operates
Develop delivery plans and manage project deliverables to completion in time and on budget
Collaborate with business, IT and vendor to develop data and system requirements, transfer business requirements into technical implementation, work with surveillance analysts to incorporate trends and feedback into system deliverables
Develop internal tools and reports for market surveillance team to streamline and automate business operation procedures and assist in visualization of management reporting
Understand and keep up to date on industry trends related to market abuse and surveillance generally in addition to evolving industry technology including machine learning and analytics
Ensure that the trade surveillance implementations meet all procedural requirements, including sign-off and model validation
Education and experience requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Analytics, Finance or a related field
10 years of related experience in financial services, preference to foreign exchange experience
Special skills, knowledge, or certification and/or licensure required for position (not preferred):
Ability to present to senior executives
Extensive experience working with trade surveillance tools such as Bloomberg, SMARTs, Trading Technologies, Liquid Metrix, or Actimize
Experience with regulations related to trade surveillance including Market Abuse Regulation (MAR)
Experience with large scale relational data base systems and data warehouses/lake technologies including Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL
Experience with BI tools including QlikView or PowerBI;
Development experience SQL, Python, R, VBA, Java, or Bloomberg API is a plus
Salary Range:
$130 000 - $212 500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
