This is an exciting opportunity to join the Customer Data Management Domain within Financial Crime. This is part of a wider program and is responsible for ensuring our regulatory obligations around financial crime are met and the monitoring/screening of our customers are improved and enhanced to become leading practice in disrupting financial crimes.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will work within a squad dedicated to improving and standardising ways of working to define business and functional requirements. You will provide specialist support in building banks strategic microservices. 

Under the PACE model your day-to-day work will be set by the Product Owner. You will report to the Chapter Lead with whom you will complete 1:1s, training, development and coaching.

  • Convert business requirements into functional designs using knowledge of system capabilities, customer related expertise and microservice strategy (BIAN API framework)

  • Define feature requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria with customer data models (SAP and CommSee) and business goals in mind

  • Analyse and synthesize large amounts of information from differing sources to inform the future state

  • Document business requirements and processes using standard analysis methodologies and tools

  • Conduct effective Agile ceremonies with a continuous improvement mindset around ways of working

  • Enable engineering team to build a shared understanding of problems and solution whilst providing support for scope and delivery decisions.

  • Work closely with stakeholders and change management to identify impacts to business processes as a result of system or application changes

  • Provide support and participate in testing activities ensuring adequate coverage

  • Provide ongoing assistance to support teams for functionality released into production, DevSecOps capabilities and overall ownership of the product.

  • Manage conflicts, issues and risks to optimise the solution and ensure alignment to scope. The potential to define and deliver the team’s product roadmap, vision and KPIs/OKRs and manage the team’s performance to defined objectives.

  • Work with PO for the prioritisation of the backlog, assignment and management of backlog items according to Agile principles including the review of work and deliverables throughout the process according to specified timeframes.

  • Maintain a future-focussed technology mindset to deliver the best digital experiences for our clients whilst driving tech simplification

  • Enable, motivate, direct and continuously develop a committed, empowered, and high performing team

  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by your manager that you have the capability to perform safely in line with relevant internal Bank policies and external regulatory requirements.
     

We are interested in hearing from people who have experience:

  • Strong understanding of customer data structures and core data element e.g. name, address, DOB, KYC etc

  • Exposure to CBA customer data systems, e.g. SAP BP, ODS, GDW, ODS, CommSee or Omnia   

  • Worked on technology enabled projects

  • Exposure to agile methodologies

  • Exposure to BIAN API frame work – Micro service APIs
