Interns will gain knowledge and experience through exciting and real-life learning opportunities. Interns must work in accordance with DTNA’s core values of passion, respect, integrity and discipline. Internship positions can be located at various DTNA locations across the US. We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations. DTNA internships begin each summer in May or June.

Interns in this role may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position subject to manager evaluations and business availability.

As a Data Modeling Intern on the Strategy Development Team within the Corporate Strategy Department, you will gain hands-on experience in designing, building, and refining data models that help us make sense of the information contained in the data. You will utilize various data channels and sources to influence and guide the direction of DTNA’s strategy program (GO 2030) and beyond. You will assist with building and managing data analyses to guide the current strategy program. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to learn about data architecture, database design, and data analytics, and who has a strong interest in creating structured and efficient data models that support the overall strategic program’s success.

Salary placement is determined by your anticipated graduation year and ranges between $21 - $30 per hour.

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Participate in data mapping and schema design processes
  • Assist in the design and development of data models for various projects
  • Assist with data quality analysis, validation, and testing to ensure data integrity
  • Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and business analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient models
  • Conduct market research and trend analysis

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s/PhD Program from an accredited college/university or have graduated within the last 12 months. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field
  • Basic understanding of relational databases (SQL) and/or NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with data modeling concepts such as entity-relationship diagrams (ERD), normalization, and schema design
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python or R) preferred
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes preferred
  • Experience with ETL and data visualization applications like Alteryx, Power BI, and Tableau preferred
