Business Data Analyst

What you will be doing:

• Use common data tools and technologies to query, manipulate and synthesize organizational data into information for business users and other stakeholders.
• Analyze internal and external data by leveraging KPIs, business performance metrics, industry benchmarks, and customer insights.
• Collaborate with a designated business unit (e.g., Claims, Underwriting, Marketing, or Finance) to identify data needs, discover trends, and provide analytical support for departmental goals.
• Develop a strong understanding of the business model, objectives, and challenges by regularly engaging with users and key stakeholders.
• Communicate findings, trends, and recommendations clearly and regularly with leadership and stakeholders.
• Use statistical methods, modeling techniques, and analytical methodologies to develop and deploy tools such as dashboards, infographics, reports, and predictive models that support data-driven decision-making.
• Leverage Power BI to design and build data solutions that meet the needs of various audiences, from front-line teams to executive leadership, as necessary.
• Support data integrity, governance, and reporting processes.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

What you have:

Education, Experience, and Licensing:

• Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in statistics or a quantitative field.
• 3+ years of analytical work experience required.
• Experience working with large data sets.
• 1+ years’ experience within the homeowner’s (P&C) Insurance industry required.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

• Advanced level knowledge of data sources, tools, applications, and business drivers.
• Strong research, problem solving, analytical, critical thinking, influencing, and relationship management skills necessary.
• Ability to communicate and present findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize effectively.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Proven mathematical and analytical skills.
• Desire to live Slide’s Core Values.
